Any of my readers here in WordPress land, know that usually my blogs are random and while I don’t have specific topics I do on certain days, I thought it would be fun to start having one day a month where I tell you what I have been reading.
As you all know, I am an avid reader and reviewer of books and have been blessed the last few months to meet many incredible authors while I have been working on my next chapter of publishing my own books. Through these authors I have received several amazing books that I might have never gotten a chance to read if I hadn’t become part of this wonderful community.
Since reading is such an important part of my life, and is my go to activity to get away from it all where I can lose myself in a world of an author’s creation and bring the story to life with my own imagination, I would like to start sharing some of my top reads each month.
So here we go!! I wish I could share them all for you but that would be impossible since I have read over twenty books this month, so I will just have to pick some top three favorites that are still resonating in my mind! I hope you enjoy getting the chance to get a peek of my book shelf
You have all heard me talking about this book this month as I had the pleasure of reviewing it here as well as a separate blog that I did about the author and what she is doing for the proceeds of this book, which you can read here.
Now for me, reading this book was a complete pleasure, I enjoyed it from cover to cover and took just over a day to read it. Rachel is a very gifted writer that brings her characters to life for you as well as the world around them. For me it was definitely one of my five star reads of the month.
While this book may not be for everyone, it is contemporary romance, coming of age book and fits well into the new young adult genre. Regardless of the genre though, it is a good story about overcoming your past and facing the troubles of sickness, friendships and relationships.
On a plus note, while I was working on writing this blog, I just was notified that “Ruin” will be on sale for just 99¢ for the next few days! You can find it here if you would like to check it out!
My word this book was amazing, I read it twice! You can see my official review of it here which I have posted to my normal sites to help spread the word about how I felt about this book.
This book was one of the first of the Dystopian genre that I have read since “The Hunger Games” and I must say I am incredibly impressed and looking forward to book two, which I have been told is set to be released sometime in early 2014. For those of you who may not know, Dystopian is the new genre that it starting to take over the literally world that paints how the world we know may look after a great political and social collapse where poverty, war, oppression and suffering become the new normal and people must fight to survive.
If you love characters overcoming the past, surviving against the odds with a dash of romance and adventure you will most likely enjoy this book. I know I did! It is also on sale for 99¢ a perfect price to check out new authors and a new genre! You can find this one here!
You have heard me talk about this book! I had the privilege of featuring this book’s cover reveal and excerpt prior to its release to the public which was yesterday. Since I just finished this book a few days ago, I have not yet been able to put up my official reviews of it as of yet, but no worries those will be coming shortly!
That being said…”Stained” was amazing! What a thought provoking book that is far from your “cookie cutter” romances that are a dime a dozen. Very excellent read, cannot wait for the rest of the series and I will be posting my review on this book here within the next week or so. Until then it can be found here and I hope that if you stop by and read it…you enjoy it as much as I did!
Well that about wraps it up for the glimpse into my bookshelf for this month, I hope that you have a good reading month yourself if you are a book worm like me!!
